Nurture Your Child’s Love of Music, Art, Theatre, Writing this Summer

May 17, 2021

Research has found that learning music facilitates learning other subjects, art and writing foster creativity and expression, and theatre develops empathy and compassion.  But with all of the things kids have to do these days in school and with other activities, there isn’t always time during the school year to give them these opportunities.  Summer is a great time to explore passions in music, art, theatre, and writing through summer camp.  Cranbrook Schools Summer Camps offer week-long experiences to develop and nurture your child in the creative and performing arts.

Summer Art Studio- (boys and girls grades 2-9)- Campers receive instruction in classic art forms such as drawing, composition, painting and sculpture, as well as contemporary media such as building, illustration, and photography.

Cranbrook Theatre School- (boys and girls grades 2-12)- With the historic Greek Theatre as the centerpiece, campers work to cultivate confidence and nurture an understanding of the theatre arts through hands-on experience and exploration.

Young Authors Camp- (boys and girls grades 2-9)- Aspiring young writers will explore language, genre, story structure, and character development through a variety of writing genres including poetry, realistic fiction, fantasy, and graphic novels.

Because of their reputation and popularity, these summer camps will fill up quickly.  Now is the time to register your child!  For more information on the many 2021 Summer Camps at Cranbrook Schools, visit https://schools.cranbrook.edu/page/camps--cranbrook/day-camps/day-camps-at-a-glance.
